We are looking for talented and passionate engineers to improve performance of our pages. As an architect on the Detail Page team, you will be building the next generation architecture in our quest to reduce website latency by 50%. You will work across a spectrum of software components (from CDNs, reverse proxies, web servers, data APIs, data stores and browsers) in leading performance improvements taking advantage of modern technologies. You will also improve scalability and efficiency by improving throughput of our services and rendering fleets. Your goal would to make our product pages to be the fastest in the world. You will change how millions of shoppers interact online, on all devices from smartphones and desktops to watches and Echos.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
8+ years of professional experience in Software Development
Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and problem solving
Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as C++, Java
Knowledge on web performance (across browsers, CDNs, proxies, web servers, REST services and databases)
Experience in effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and senior management
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience in performance fine tuning & improvement - both client and server side.
Experience working with highly scalable distributed systems and service oriented architecture.
Experience in mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective software engineers.
