Sr. Communications Program Manager Job in Amazon

DESCRIPTION

IT Services , the internal Amazon IT support team - is seeking a curious, self-motivated, and creative communications professional who is looking to apply their skills and experience in innovative ways. An ideal candidate will want to be part of a team that does nothing but think about ways to more effectively communicate with colleagues while working to craft communication and enable messaging channels that will drive adoption and usage of Amazon IT products and services. In this role, you will manage IT Support communications to help Amazon employees keep pace with the changing hardware, software, and policy needs of the company. Were looking for a candidate who can exercise high editorial judgment in communicating across a large global org.

IT Services growth is driven by a rapid expansion of its worldwide Amazon employee base and there is an increased need for support in communications, strategic messaging, increased channels to deliver messaging, and change management within the IT Services content team. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate has several years of experience in communications, change management, content development, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You must be a strong communicator with program management skills and experience. The work will be 50% writing and 50% project management. You must be comfortable taking initiative, operating at a global scale, understanding cultural and local preferences, and working across teams in an agile environment. In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and teams to understand their communication and engagement needs, develop detailed proposals, and manage the execution of the plans for the IT Services content team.
Drive, create, and own end-to-end communications across multiple channels to successfully enable Amazon employees to adopt key IT services, updates, features, and products.
Own and deliver against a comprehensive communication plan for internal communications; developing and delivering communications globally through many channels; ensure messages are being delivered to the right audience at the right time in the right channel, in a consistent and engaging format.
Consult with stakeholders to define business objectives and deploy a set of actionable and targeted messaging plans including a communication plan, toolkits, processes, templates, and self-service tools.
Conduct business readiness assessments, evaluate results, and develop plans to ensure messaging is aligned with upcoming technology changes.
Evangelize within Amazon to encourage a fast and smooth adoption of IT Services content products and programs.
Identify emerging topics and develop proactive plans with stakeholders, including crafting communications as needed.
Exercise extremely high judgment in ambiguous situations with narrow time frames.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Content management or communication experience in a large, complex organization.
Experience creating content: digital, written, training, video, or visual communications materials
6+ years of Program and/or project management experience
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, project management, and organization skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Have flexibility with changing programs and processes.
Track record of complex and creative problem-solving, and the desire to create and build new processes.
A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly, and get things done.
Communications experience, ideally supporting programmatic and product changes globally
