Job Description:
AWS Utility Computing (UC) powers some of the most innovative and foundational services in the cloud, including Amazon S3 and EC2, and continues to set benchmarks in cloud solutions. As part of the AWS UC team, you will collaborate on the development of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps. Within this domain, the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) team supports customers with specialized security requirements.

We re looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Search Services team in Bangalore. This team leads innovation in search and real-time analytics, with primary responsibility for Amazon OpenSearch. The role involves tackling large-scale distributed systems challenges and delivering high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design architectures for large-scale systems with a focus on scalability, security, and availability.
• Develop and support a cutting-edge search and analytics platform for a diverse range of customers.
• Write robust, efficient, and maintainable code, primarily in Java and Python.
• Drive innovation by challenging existing solutions and designing for future business needs.
• Contribute to algorithm design, architecture development, and the execution of critical initiatives.
• Lead by example in engineering best practices for distributed system design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to set the vision and objectives for Search Services.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, with a focus on reliability and scaling.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
