About the Role
As a Regional IT manager, you will focus on our customer's experience and build a relationship starting from the customer and working backwards through the support organization and into the engineering teams. You will need to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and focus on Operational Excellence to improve the reliability, availability and quality for the services utilized by customers.
Amazon Fulfillment Services is looking for Regional IT Manager to help drive the execution and improvement of key service delivery processes throughout the organization and ensure that the correct metrics and KPI are in place. This organization of IT professionals installs and maintains the technical infrastructure used by thousands of Amazon associates working in Delivery Stations across India
This team is experiencing rapid growth as we expand our Indian Delivery station network. In this role you will provide coaching, mentoring and guidance for a diverse team of managers and engineers, will travel to many Delivery stations to meet members of the team, learn about the business first hand and develop relationships with General Managers and Senior Operations leaders. You will regularly manage large, cross-functional projects and interact with software developers, executives, vendors and other support teams.
A successful candidate will have experience operating in high-pressure situations, a proven ability to handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. He / she should be able to:
Bridge Operations Technology Services to the customer.
Engage with customers across all business lines by identifying key stakeholders and establish a partnership with OpsTech IT.
Where necessary, define KPIs for the team.
Drive continuous improvement of defined KPIs, increase customer satisfaction and Operational Excellence year over year.
Identify areas of improvement and drive initiatives to address failures in systems and/or process with a networking focus.
Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous support and improvement of IT solutions.
Represent the broader team to communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Role responsibilities include:
Candidate will be required to manage IT operations for multiple sites pan India and have an ability to engage Operation teams and ensure defined SLAs are met
Candidate will be required to own key India wide initiatives and projects. Therefore an ability to invent on behalf of our customer and manage projects with structure, with an ability to influence teams to get things done quickly is essential. Understand trends related to Amazon business and recommend strategies to stakeholders to drive business growth by providing key insights. Build trust by responding with urgency to high-priority requests
Manage a team of IT managers and field engineers and showcase required technical and management acumen to act as a coach, guide and mentor to the team.
Ability to manage/ drive /prioritize multiple projects and initiatives along with BAU activities at the same time.
Deep Dive Identify, develop, manage, and execute analysis to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business
The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand Amazons core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices
For this role they will be required to work autonomously supporting sites across India region and managing the performance of their team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
14+ years of progressively responsible IT Infrastructure Management experience, IT Service Management or IT Business Operations experience.
Experienced in leading and managing technical teams.
A solid understanding of networking, server and desktop technology, and proven methods on providing innovative solutions to customers Strong leadership capabilities, having the ability to connect with a diverse set of customers or prior experience in managing engineering or technical teams
Strong technical acumen, including the ability to understand the customer or partner IT landscape, identify opportunities and overcome any technical obstacles
Experience working with stakeholders to communicate issues while balancing business expectations
Ability to travel up to 50%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications
Experienced in project managing site setup and build activities.
Experienced in managing complex projects with regional or country level scope.
Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or other warehouse environments
Intermediate-level knowledge in one or more of the following: LAN, WAN, Wireless, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Low voltage data cabling, or data facilities technologies.
Experience of working with a distributed team of peers, delivering both locally and across the wider team.
An ability to think creatively and apply strong problem solving skills
