Job Description

Amazon is seeking a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and determined Business Intelligence analyst with a strong desire to join Amazon's Leave and Accommodation Team. The team supports the leave, disability, accommodation, and support for life events for employees within Amazon. The role will support the continued growth and success of the program, particularly focusing on the data integrity, business intelligence, and metrics to provide program guidance on design, improvement, and outcomes. She/he will help champion the customer (employee/manager/HR) experience by building out analyses and reporting on key customer experience metrics.

The ideal candidate would have a strong track record of solving ambiguous business problems, and an appetite for mining patterns in data. They would be equally apt at presenting their findings to their peers and senior leadership, as they are at coming to those findings. She/he will design operational and business dashboards for the Leadership team. You will work with business owners to understand analytics requirements and develop solutions. The candidate would have a strong tendency for taking ownership of the space they're working in, and would quickly become a respected and trusted expert. She/he will built mechanisms to convert our underlying data into meaningful dashboards, compelling metrics, and actionable.

The ideal candidate has an accomplished professional background and experience as an analyst in a business environment. She/he is comfortable analyzing data from multiple sources to create strategic recommendations in a thoughtful, concise manner and obtaining organizational buy-in. She/he is well-organized, can manage multiple analyses/projects simultaneously, and is intellectually curious.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Design, implement, and support metrics for the program
Develop and run reports supporting program metrics
Review information from multiple sources to confirm data integrity
Set priorities in a way that meets both periodic and ad-hoc reporting needs
Work with operations teams to gather valuable insight
Translate ambiguous business problems into actionable analysis requirements
Build a culture of visual management build robust operational and business metrics and make them highly visual and consumable across the workplace, and help us drive performance that delights our customers
Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders
Engage with the analytics team for collaborative projects
Develop analytics solutions (Forecasting, prediction etc.)
Deep-dive various data sources for analysis, root causes, and to uncover new patterns and answer key questions
Work with cross-functional teams, multiple systems, and vendor data to design, build, deploy the reporting systems, and utilize metrics to identify strong improvement opportunities. You will enable effective decision-making by retrieving and aggregating data and converting it into actionable insight
Identify and implement solutions to better automate and streamline the existing processes
Partner with business leaders on cross- functional teams including HR Operations and Analytics, Finance, Operations, vendors, and benchmark groups
Prepare reports on regular cadences, as well as conduct ad hoc data mining and analysis to drive managerial decisions and focused improvement efforts
Translate business inquiries to analytical reports required to drive reporting, metrics, dashboards, and a compliant programs. Embed analytics into day to day operations
Communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership. Escalate problems as needed
Manage reports and timelines to support regulatory reporting
Retrieve, analyze and report necessary data from source systems including Amazons Data Warehouse




BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


Basic qualifications

3-5+ years of experience in a highly analytical role such as finance, operations research, engineering or a related area
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
Demonstrated expertise with SQL, Excel and Access
Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing data into impactful business cases
Ability to apply basic statistical techniques (i.e. hypothesis testing)
Ability to travel 10%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of statistics
Ability to use data to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analysis
Able to drive clarity in the face of ambiguity
Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction. Highly capable of multi-tasking and executing on multiple project channels simultaneously
HR or Operations experience preferred.
Process improvement background; Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other experience or certification
Stakeholder management
Able to fly at all levels; summarizing key points for executive audience, while also able to dive into details with specialists/analysts.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to travel up to 10%, as required
