Electronics Engineer Job in Altra Industrial Motion

Job Description

This position of Electronics Engineer is to be part of the team responsible for the development of drivers and controllers mainly for BLDC motors.

The role is to understand customer needs and to participate to the development or customization of the electronic.

The engineer will work collaboratively with Engineering & Cross-functional Teams based out of India, Switzerland & USA for developing simple drivers that are easy to use. In the role will also be required to work closely with external suppliers / partners for complex motion solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

New products definition and development:

• Passionate for mechatronic solution
• Understand electronic driver for our electric motor and their applications.
• Help the team to elaborate electronic product road map.
• From VOC Define product specifications.
• From product specifications, develop concept, design a solution, or work with external partners.
• Ensure new projects are respecting milestones and development process.
• Sales support Work closely with Business development team and Product Line Manager to propose solution. Help them to build product road map.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

1) Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design for electric motors, drives and feedback sensors.

2) Knowledge of motion control, control systems application in speed, torque or position control.

3) Knowledge of Measurement instruments like Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Function generator/ Spectrum Analyzer

4) Understanding of electronics and micro electronics

5) Knowledge of Embedded System development capability (software and hardware)

6) Knowledge of 16/32 bit microcontroller is an added advantage

7) Knowledge of LabVIEW and MATLAB are an added advantage

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

UG in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics

Master s degree in Electric Drives, Power Electronics and Drives, Electronics/Power Electronics 2+ years experience

OR

Ph.D. in Electrical (Electric Drives and control, power electronics and drives) or related specializations

Background of Mechatronics is preferred

Exposure to Robotics will be added advantage

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluency in verbal and written English communication
