Solution Architect Job in Abb

This is a Solution Architect role, reporting to the Line Manager in Business Area Industrial Automation and located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited (GISPL), a subsidiary of ABB. You will join a group of high-achieving engineers to lead and develop cutting edge industrial control applications for the Energy service industry. You will be contributing significantly to successful project results in technology and/or product development by identifying, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Defining the architecture of new products, as well as maintenance and life cycle strategy of existing products, within various groups.
• Designing, development, testing and deployment of web and windows applications.
• Architecting the productivity improvement initiatives like continuous integration and deployment, DevOps etc. for faster and reliable development as well as deployment of the software products/solutions.
• Understanding the market requirements, developing product requirements, and selecting appropriate technology and, supporting development and testing of the application.
• Providing broad technical software support, training, pilots and consulting services for clients and to carry out the implementation of company software product in energy industry.
• Working with Project Managers to define scope, features and estimates for new projects.
• Planning project activities with local and remote teams.
• Working directly on development tasks, providing technical leadership, coordinating with other resources and creating high quality products within the defined schedules and budgets.
• Working with customers to define new opportunities for plant level applications.

Your background

• Bachelor s or master s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Should have 12-15 years of overall software development experience along with at least 5-8 years of experience with designing Software Architecture.
• Should have architected and designed web-based software applications and desktop software applications.
• Expertise in Microsoft technologies like C#, .Net, ASP.NET MVC, .Net Core.
• Expertise in Web technologies and Azure.
• Exposure to industrial automation domain, particularly OPC-UA and Modbus TCP.
• Expertise in architectural tools like Enterprise Architect.
• Exposure to building Internet of Things (IOT) application with REST services.
• Desirable to have architecture related certification like TOGAF.
• Good Experience in designing and development of responsive web apps (SPA) using React, Angular.
• Ability to integrate open source visualization components (maps, graphs, OpenGL widgets, d3 widgets).
• Hands on experience on with several of the following technologies: Node JS application development, SSL mutual authentication, containerization with Docker, Cloud Native application development using micro services architecture, Open ID and OAuth, Designing orchestration solutions for scalable micro services.
• Have good knowledge and exposure to DevOps processes (CI/CD).
