Material Planner Job in Abb

This is a Material Planner, reporting to the Planning & Fulfillment Manager in Business Area Electrification (EL) located in Bangalore and will be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory including sales in excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Also, responsible for supporting internal customer service inquiries and setting inventory parameters, inventory targets, and ensuring adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

Your responsibilities

• Defining inventory policies according to this segmentation and segmenting the portfolio of materials through an ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy.
• Calculating and maintaining in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters through safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time and replenishment strategies.
• Collaborating with buyers for obtaining the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, lead-time and flexibility.
• Working with fulfillment specialists to align planning of material with call offs and ensuring that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders.
• Managing MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis. Supporting cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting.
• Conducting financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, conducts root case analysis when necessary.
• Analyzing excess and obsolete/aging inventory and taking appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with sales, marketing, manufacturing and procurement and logistics.

Your background

• Any Bachelors degree from reputed institution.
• Minimum 6-10 years experience in material planning, ordering, manual planning and inbound logistics.
• Good inventory control, inventory performance and sourcing knowledge.
• Good in ERP & Microsoft applications.
• Good oral communication & writing skills in English.
