Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support regional/global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of a regional/global Category Manager or independently if under a defined threshold. Each day, you will purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring the purchase activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Motion business IEC Low Voltage division in Vadodara/Bangalore/Faridabad, India. You will be mainly accountable for: Supports the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing in close alignment with the regional/global category leader. Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renew pricelists, terms & conditions, and driving commodity cost management objectives and cost savings, delivering continuous and sustainable cost reduction through supplier negotiations. Run benchmark studies for the category team and for specific sourcing initiatives. Creates local contract amendments to frame agreements on the behalf of a country and updates/maintain frame contracts. Supports regional/global sourcing initiatives within a defined set of categories, working closely with key stakeholders to implement regional category strategies. On-boards new suppliers in close collaboration with the respective plant buyers and run regular supplier evaluations and provide supplier reports to Business & category managers. Run regional sourcing initiatives under a defined threshold. Initiates RFI s-RFQ s according to requests from the plant/regional/global category leaders. Foster communication internally, externally and between divisions, business units, Functions & supports implementation of commodities activities & initiatives in the region/country through clear communication.
Qualifications for the role
- B. Tech / B.E in Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent from a reputed university
- Must have a minimum 5 years experience in the procurement as commodity/category buyers.
- Must have good negotiation, communication & interpersonal skills.
- Must have strategic thinking, analytical, co-operative.
- Sound knowledge of sourcing strategy, commodity management, understanding the project management process, contractual and legal aspects.
- Good understanding of business practices, market dynamics and commodity trends.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
