Job Description 1. Ensure standardization of plant specific EHS procedures in accordance with BU EHS guidelines and level 1 documentation as a reference. 2. Prepare plant specific annual plan for safety, health and environmental ensuring that all objectives and targets shall be addressed properly. 3. Drive design and implementation of initiatives such as awareness campaigns, safety drills, training programs, recognition for best ideas, etc. to enhance importance of EHS among Varroc employees 4. Plan budget for plant specific EHS activities, Annual plat and ensure availability of resources 1. Conduct thorough Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment based on OHSAS 18001 latest standards. 2. Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards. 3. Implement safety standards, identify unsafe activities and potential hazards across plants, provide recommendation for correction to ensure safety regulation compliance 4. Create a proactive action plan to minimise incidents & accidents on safety front and conduct in-depth incident analysis and accident investigation highlighting the root cause and taking corrective measures 1. Develop & drive environmental control plan by analyzing existing environment related practices and control mechanisms and identifying potential aspects to ensure Varroc operations comply with statutory norms 2. Liaison and develop mutually beneficial relationships with external stakeholders like factory inspector, pollution board, relevant govt. functionaries etc., to ensure smooth operations and functioning 1. Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) & work specific tools are used by every employee onsite 2. Ensure a periodic medical check-up by certifying surgeons. 1. Conduct periodic EHS inspections and audits (planned as well as surprise) across the plants, review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy and ensure that corrective actions are implemented 2. Ensure compliance with OSHAS & monitor renewal of licenses and permissions for manufacturing process 1. Conduct plant wide EHS training needs assessment & identify skill gaps to be addressed 2. Create an annual, monthly or weekly training plan for all sections. 3. Oversee creation of appropriate training material as per identified needs Ensure regular conduct of safety induction, on the job trainings, classroom trainings, dos and don ts trainings for process lines etc. and ensure attendance by concerned personnel from production
