Field Attendant Genebank Job in International Crops Research Institute For The Semi-arid Tropics
Job Summary
Qualification : Degree/Diploma in Agricultural/Plant Sciences is preferred
- Assist scientific staff in germplasm characterization and evaluation of Chickpea for agronomic traits, and for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance
- Assist in collection, isolation and maintenance of chickpea pathogens
- Assist in greenhouse and field screening of chickpea against different pathogens
- Conduct day to day activities in lab, greenhouse and field
- Assist in crop management, supervision of field labors, and data collection
- Contribute to other research tasks as assigned by supervisor
Essential Criteria:
- Degree/Diploma in Agricultural/Plant Sciences is preferred.
- Experience in germplasm evaluation for biotic/abiotic traits and DUS characterization traits are preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar field is desirable
- Proficiency in the use of various software applications (MS Word, MS Excel,)
- Fluency in local language, and good communication skill in English
- Labor management skill is preferred
- Ability to work in digital device for data collection
- Candidate with valid driver s license is preferred
- Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team
